Reaction to finale

It happened!

After 4 long seasons Delena fans and shippers all over the world can finally say to all the Stelena fans “We told you so”  In the season finale Delena fan were rewarded with in most delena fans eyes as one of the best scenes in the whole season, the first being delena sex. Elena finally admited her feelings, suprising the hell out of Damon, before the pair shared a kiss. The sire bond has been ruled out Elena can defy Damon and she has on a few occasions….

All I can say is

THANK YOU JULIE PLEC!!!!!!!!

Also Thank you Bonnie for bringing back Jeremy, even though it cost you your life, I hope that you find peace on the other side.

Klaroline is still alive, when Klaus returned to save Caroline from the angry hybrids and witches, as well as being impressed by his use of graduation caps, though admitedly not as epic as his christmas slaughter, I also knew that we would be in for a sweet moment between the two characters. Klaus’s present to Caroline, giving Tyler the freedom to return to Mystic Falls and his comment:

“He’s your first love. I intend to be your last. However long it takes”

My heart just melted. It’s all I can say. Maybe the whole cast should move to New Orleans so we can still have our favorite original hybrid back… I mean they’ve all graduated now and it’s not like Jeremy can be seen around town since he is supposed to be dead.

My reaction when I saw Silas’s true identidy: I am not allowed to use the word  but it starts with f…. That was one hell of a plot twist….

Doplegang-HIM

Note to Sheriff Forbes: Can we get better protection around the water sources of Mystic Falls? They are causing major problems for some of your daughter’s best friends.

First, Elena plunges off a bridge and into eternity as a member of the undead on last year’s season finale.

Now, in “Graduation,” Stefan is locked inside a safe and pushed into what appears to be an impenetrably soggy grave because Silas reveals his true self to be the doppleganger of this Salvatore brother, the shadow self created because nature needed a balance to the witch who created an immortal curse.

Allow me to repeat that again, using the capital letters it calls for: STEFAN IS SILAS’ DOPPLEGANGER!!!!!

Holy game-changing cliffhanger, Julie Plec. You have most definitely done it again.

Caroline at Graduation

Until the wholly unexpected concluding scene, The Vampire Diaries Season 4 finale centered more on matters of the heart than matters of the Holy $hit Did That Really Happen?!?. Consider all the romantic scenes and developments:

  • Rebekah saved Matt’s life and the pair ran away together. Drove away together? Flew around the globe together with Rebekah using her vampire-like speed and carrying Matt on her back?

Travel arrangements aside, this was a well-deserved trip for both parties. Matt has clearly saved up some vacation time from The Grill and the past few weeks have done an admirable job of softening Rebekah and proving she really can be “good.” Of course, we all know The Originals is coming (Tuesday nights this fall!) and Mebekah’s future doesn’t appear especially bright. But a summer fling with an Aussie-accented blonde? Things could be worse, Matt Donovan.

  • Bonnie brought Jeremy back to life and said goodbye for good. (Possibly? That didn’t feel like a proper farewell. I fear Bon Bon is not Gone Gone.)

Okay, I’ll make it quick: this was incredibly dumb. Bonnie’s use of random, all-powerful spells to fix situations has been a source of frustration – and occasional humor on The Vampire Diaries Round Table – for many seasons. But this was a magical step too far. She simply did a spell? And that’s it? Jeremy is now alive? Very lame. No other way to put it.

  • Klaus granted Tyler his freedom and delivered the line of the night to Caroline: He’s your first love. I intend to be your last. However long it takes. Damn. That guy is good at a lot more than using graduation caps as a weapon.

This was a perfect scene all around. It left the Klaroline door open just the tiniest crack, while making us wonder how Caroline will react when Tyler next walks through her bedroom door. Seriously, is it possible for Candice Accola to just be on both shows this fall? Running really fast between New Orleans and Mystic Falls? She and Joseph Morgan are terrific together. And think of all the parties Caroline could throw in The Big Easy!

  • Elena chose Damon. Again. For real this time. It was the only real solution to the triangle, as many viewers would have tuned out for good if she somehow went back to Stefan. And simply choosing herself? Kelly Taylor beat her to that years ago.

Season 4 did a mostly solid job of shoving the Who Will Elena Choose? question to the sidelines (that’s what happens when you lose your humanity and go around killing waitresses), but the end result was that it made her decision here seem so anti-climactic. We all knew full-throttle Delena would happen at some point, so let’s just hope it now sticks… and we never hear the words “sire bond” ever again.

(Must we even discuss The Cure? A storyline that never really went anywhere and never made a great deal of sense ended with essentially a side character being forced to take it. Is anyone counting down the days until October because they care about Katherine as a human? I didn’t think so).

So, yes, a lot of sentiment and not a great deal of shock for about 58 minutes tonight. Until that conclusion. Until the scene that absolutely no one could have seen coming and which opens up a never-ending number of possibilities. But they all go back to Paul Wesley getting to revisit his Ripper roots in some way, which is a treat for both the actor and every viewer.

There’s no way the real Stefan is actually dead… right? Will Silas now integrate himself into the group and try to pass himself off as Stefan? To what end? That’s actually the only real cliffhanger we have heading into The Vampire Diaries Season 5, the only thread really left dangling, aside from how The Grill will possibly function without Matt.

But it’s a doozy! I now turn it over to you, TVD Fanatics, and ask for your take on the crazy twist and on Season 4 as a while. How would you grade it?

Graduation Photos

It’s nearly graduation day in Mystic Falls.

On May 16, Caroline, Elena, Matt and company will don their caps and gowns, deal  with some ghosts and walk across the stage to accept their diplomas. But why  do we doubt it will go that smoothly?

The CW has released a slew of photos from The  Vampire Diaries Season 4 finale, most of which depict our favorite seniors  in their special outfits and some of which tease:

  • An emotional Elena.
  • A few unwanted guests.
  • A fond farewell from Klaus before he heads off to The  Originals.
  • A shirtless  damon

The Walking Dead Review: To No A-Veil

Vemotus kravis an adenum…

Oh, Bonnie. You just had to utter those words, didn’t you? You couldn’t leave  well enough a stone… bid farewell to Jeremy… and find a new love who looks  slightly worse in a wifebeater, could you?

And, as a result, you are now a member of “The  Walking Dead.”

That, TVD Fanatics, is what we call one shocker of an ending.

Bonnie Up Close

Is Bonnie really a goner? It would certainly appear  so, unless events on the Season  4 finale result in some more un-Veiling and she gets resurrected via the  sometimes confusing and frustrating universe that is The Vampire  Diaries afterlife.

Don’t you dare get me wrong: I loved the return of  Alaric. No, really. I loved, loved, loved, loved seeing everyone’s favorite  bourbon-swilling history teacher back in Mystic Falls, sharing BFF moments with  Damon and once again playing the role of reluctant hero.

And Lexi? And Jeremy? And… ummm, Kol? I guess?  Almost all welcome appearances.

But it’s a fair criticism of this show that it  can’t leave the dead buried. Or in Ghost World. Or whatever they’re calling it  these days. It’s hard for emotional scenes to stick when we’re fairly confident  we’ll see the supposedly deceased character again at some point.

And with The  Originals stealing away a few Vampire  Diaries cast members, and with Bonnie’s powers seemingly endless, we  probably don’t need to pen any obituaries just yet.

Spoilers have also revealed that at least one of  the returnees we saw tonight will stick around for good this fall. Who will it  be? Who do you want it to be?

ELSEWHERE…

  • Damon has The Cure. Will he give it to Elena? Pour it down the drain? Use it  to kill Klaus? Consider this my first finale prediction: Damon will somehow end  up drinking it and the final scene of “Graduation” will be of a human  Damon Salvatore.
  • Three of The Five are back. Hi, Alexandar. Greetings, Connor. What’s shakin,  Vaughn? They have their sights set on Silas, but in a less fearless finale  prediction, it’s not hard to see how their arrival will prompt Rebekah to run  away. I hear New Orleans is lovely this time of year.
  • Elena has rediscovered her humanity. All of her humanity, not just those  parts that want to feast on Katherine’s insides. This arc has been a great  showcase for Nina Dobrev. It’s been a refreshing distraction from the love  triangle and sire bond nonsense as well. And Elena is also really good  at darts. Prediction number-three: Elena will spend the summer trying out for The American  Darters Association.
  • Staroline Alert! Clefan Tease! Potential Couple in Need of a Nickname  Warning! Within five minutes, Lexi picked up on what Stefan and Caroline were  putting down. Yes, the latter must say goodbye to Klaus next week, and Tyler is  still sort of around we suppose… but will The  Vampire Diaries Season 5 actually go there? Staroline seeds were definitely  planted here. Prediction number-four: I’ll be ever so happy if those seeds are  allowed to fully grow.

Overall, a terrific penultimate installment.

The last few weeks have seen Bonnie take center stage, which is far more  preferable to the ways in which her powers have been used as a storyline pawn in  the past. The final scene and closing words (I’m dead) were  legitimately startling, while the return of the hunters and the revelation of  Silas’ true identity – come on, no way they don’t follow up on that nugget,  right? – leave plenty of finale possibilities.

Oh, and… ALARIC!!! Pardon me while I go jump for some more joy and sound  off now: What did you think of “The Walking Dead?” Is Bonnie truly  about to rest in peace? Will Matt get some from Rebekah before she leaves?

Round Table Discussion Number 2: She’s Come undone

Alright we should have all seen the last episode of TVD. If you haven’t…. Shame on you, you missed a fantastic episode. Already the inbox is overflowing with comments. So lets get the ball rolling shall we?

What was your favorite scene of the episode?

I’m gonna have to go with Elena getting her humanity back… Nina did another impressive job with her performance in this scene, and I also liked that we took a step back from the Salvatore brothers and focused on Matt instead. He and Elena have a history more so then the Salvatore brothers. Hell Elena even died to save him.

Are you Happy to have the old Elena back?

Yes, but I have conditions… I don’t want elena to go back to being the indesive, damsel in distress. Elena still needs to have a backbone. Also I liked the bitchy Elena, she had funny lines and reminded me of the season 1 Damon Salvatore, any body remember him?

Who would you prefer as a Tutor: Caroline or Rebekah?

hmmm…. If it was for school, Rebekah, centurties of experience all wrapped up into one blonde package… but Caroline would win for me if it was how to attract guys… I mean hello Damon, Matt, Tyler and even Klaus, the girl got herself some attractive boyfriends over the years. Okay so maybe she didn’t get Klaus (Thanks Hayley) but she does have him wrapped around her little finger.

Does Matt deserve his own spinoff

Yes but only if he gets a better life. He needs to find better people to hang out with who actually appreciate him and don’t try to kill him…

Who is least Likely to survive the Season?

Silas, the storyline is getting pretty old.. and he’s not lovable like Klaus, everyone’s favorite Villan. Also we wouldn’t want Julie Plec to get more hate mail. I also think he will die and the veil will come down, because with the departure of Klaus we need some more stars, so maybe we can get Alaric, Jeremy and Lexi back.

Now it’s over to you….. drop a comment below with your thoughts. Do you agree with my thoughts or do you have your own….

Review of epsiode 20: Finding her Hu-Matt-ity

Matt Donovan proved one thing on “She’s  Come Undone,” a Vampire Diaries episode that brought back the old Elena,  nearly killed the Sheriff and featured Bonnie making a deal with the  Devil:

You don’t need to wear a varsity jacket to play hero.

Seriously, let’s all give a slow clap to Matty D. The guy may not know his  Pythagorean Theorem from his Periodic Table, but the busboy saved the day this  week. Give that man a promotion, Grill!

Pain for Elena

Matt’s quasi sacrifice finally broke down Elena’s  emotional floodgates at the perfect time.

This storyline has been a tremendous showcase for  Nina Dobrev (she was especially strong in the climactic scene, believing her  first high school sweetheart to be dead), while also taking focus away from the  played-out Cure arc and from the tiresome love triangle.

But we all knew it would conclude at some point and  I applaud Julie Plec and company for this creative solution: not only did it  give Matt a chance to shine, it served as a callback – a call all the  way back – to The Vampire  Diaries Season 3 finale and this year’s premiere, as Matt was able to  repay his debt and Rebekah was able to come full circle with an apology for her  role in that whole  driving-Matt-and-Elena-off-the-bridge-and-prompting-the-latter-to-become-a-vampire  thing.

(Pssst, Matt: forget Rebekah as your tutor. You  should go ahead and toot her… if you know what I mean!)

Elsewhere… well, not a great deal happened. This  was a tight, focused hour that mostly concerned itself with evil experiments on  Elena. Not that I’m complaining. The Vampire Diaries can sometimes  suffer from too many things happening at once, from going a million (sorry,  Caroline, 90 million) miles an hour and relying more on shock and awe  than sense and logic.

So I welcomed a respite. The episode was clean and  tidy and we were left with some intriguing resolutions:

  • Bonnie has a scheme to bring down the Veil. Hey Bon-Bon, what’s the French  words for buzzkill?
  • She also has a deal in place with Katherine.
  • Silas has issued a threat that there will be consequences if Bonnie does not  live up to her end of their dangerous bargain.
  • Elena wants to kill Katherine because she’s responsible for everything that  sucks.

That’s where we are heading into “The  Walking Dead” and then the Season  4 finale. What did you think of “She’s Come Undone?”

Are you glad that the old Elena has returned? Is Rebekah on her way  to being redeemed? What, exactly, is Bonnie planning? And who would make a  better study partner, Caroline or Rebekah?
