‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 3 Episode 21 ‘Before Sunset’ The Good and Bad of Klaus in

Spoiler Alert

The Vampire Diaries season 3 continues  with episode 21, “Before Sunset.” It’s the penultimate episode of the season, and everyone has a lot to deal with—including Klaus. With Alaric out terrorizing everyone, will Klaus be the good guy or the bad guy in this episode?

Based on what E! Online has reported, Klaus is going to be both the good and the bad guy in this episode. According to executive producer Julie Plec, he’ll have his “heroic moment,” but then he’ll do “something so horrible, you’re like ‘Man, what’s wrong with you?!’” She went on to tease, “This is a second call of arms to Klaus, who may have gotten distracted by pretty blondes and paintings and horses. This is the reminder that this guy means business, and he’s not going to let his guard down again. It’s a nice reboot of the villain.” While it has been entertaining to see Klaus trying to woo Caroline (and he is really hot), he is an Original. He is a hybrid. He can’t always be nice or anywhere near good.

However, there is the question of what this “heroic moment” will be in The Vampire Diaries season 3 episode 21. Will “Before Sunset” see him playing a hand in saving Caroline? She is in trouble, as the Canadian promo shows. Alaric has her and uses her to call Elena down to the school. As the CW previews show, Alaric’s going to have some fun tossing Elena into the school lockers. Will Klaus save Elena from Alaric since he needs the doppelgänger to create his hybrids? Will the “something so horrible” he does lead to someone dying? With this being the end of the season, anything can happen, including the death of a beloved character. Will that happen in “Before Sunset”?

As the sneak peek has revealed, Klaus is planning to leave Mystic Falls and one of his “road trip necessities” is Elena. He wants to create his hybrid army, and it seems likely in his attempt to achieve that, he could do something “heroic,” but then turn around and remind fans that yes, he is the villain. He’s not a nice guy, and even if he seems that way sometimes with his paintings and dances with Caroline, it’s just not the case.
